We tend to overestimate other people and underestimate ourselves. We sometimes think that because others are more accomplished or have more money or are better educated or better looking or may be slicker at presenting themselves in a more flattering light that they are somehow better than us. Nothing could be further from the truth. Perhaps they have done a better job of embracing what is great about themselves, but that's about it.
Whatever you admire about others is a reflection of your own talent, drive and desire to live your full potential. You already possess many great qualities, but do you OWN all of the things that are great about you?
I don't care who it is, nobody, and I really mean NOBODY, is better than you. You have gifts and talents that others don't have. You have your own unique abilities, creativity, inspiration and potential that many others don't have. When you see others as better than you, you sell yourself short. No matter how much you embrace what's great within you, there are always deeper layers to tap into. The highly accomplished or highly gratified person you aspire to be is lurking within you somewhere. You just have to fully embrace it. Believe that there is something special about you, because there is. Believe that you are destined for a great life, because you are. You don't have to settle for mediocre or even good when there is greatness within you. Whatever you desire to be, do or have already exists deep within you as a seed that just needs to be cultivated and nurtured through belief and inspired action.
We all come to a a crossroads in our lives (some of us many times) where we are forced to confront situations in which we will either bow down to life or stand up and OWN the fact that we will not be defeated by ANY situation. It is often when our backs are against the wall that we are forced to access the truly extraordinary aspects of ourselves.
We tend to focus on what's not working, what's not desirable in any situation that we lose sight of what IS good, what IS working and how far we've come and how much we've learned. We are good just as we are. We don't need to be anyone else, just more of who we actually are at the deepest and most profound level.
You are not second class to anyone, anywhere, at anytime. You can respect other people, but make sure you respect yourself too. Be your own fanboy. Don't put other people on a pedestal. They are just like you, whether it outwardly appears so or not. They have flaws and warts and shortcomings just like everyone else.
Some have had extraordinary success in certain areas of their lives such as business, career, relationships, family, fitness or the ability to balance and juggle many areas of their lives simultaneously. They seem to have figured out how to enjoy life more than most. Well, that's admirable, but that still does not make them superior to you as a person. No matter what level of accomplishment someone has achieved, they are struggling to get to the next thing, just as we all are. They are fighting battles you know nothing about.
Don't be jealous or compare your experience to someone else's life experience. It's apples and oranges. Just learn from them in whatever way you can. Model the aspects of that person that you find inspiring so that you can grow stronger in that area of your life. But don't see anyone as superior as a human because they are not.
You are here to allow your God-given abilities to come forth and to overcome any fear that may get in your way of achieving that mission. And the only way that is ever going to happen is if you see yourself as an equal among ALL men. You believe that because it's true. You have a rightful place here as an extraordinary example of what humanity has produced over many thousand of generations. You are a genetic survivor. You are a product of much effort and struggle of past generations and you are a tone setter for future generations. You are also a spiritually evolved being who has suffered through countless lifetimes to emerge as the refined being that you have now become. If you knew how much you had already accomplished to be right here, right now, you would never again doubt or disrespect yourself. You would never again question how you compare to anyone else.
