This is the world of Desire
The world of Despair
Embrace the devouring beasts, in this ungodly lair
So they say
Suffer and be shackled, life is unfair
Silence the Heart, forget that it is there
Dissolve the ashes of tears, let them simmer underneath
A deadly concoction lies beneath
The wine of desire, silences a weeping soul
Numbing the aching heart, shutting the gaping hole
Drink, like those who drank before
Sink, like those who sank before
Then lie to yourself, like those who lied before
Follow the path set out for you
Deviants they abhor Follow the path set out for you
Carry the burden of your Heart and Soul
They captivate and hold
They will not let go
The more you struggle
The tighter becomes the rope
You are in a ship of despair
Sailing on the seas of hope
Gazing into the vastness, hoping against hope
This is a matter of Spirit
This is a matter of Heart and Soul
If you stare into the abyss
All you see is chaos and grief
While the pirates lie and decieve
And so they will say
But listen not
Go away
Depart at the Light of Day
Go astray
Steadfast on this solitary way
Though your vision is blurred into a fray
Tread fearlessly on that solitary way
