2009:

7-23-09wilburwa-blog

Wilbur (Lincoln City), WASHINGTON - July 23, 2009  (wheat)
First “geometric” crop circle reported in U.S. in 2009, found on farm not far from 2007 Wilbur formation. This one consists of 5 rings (largest approx.120 ft. diam.) & 1 circle in “ripe” wheat.  Seattle Times says farmer saw no tracks through wheat or footprints in soil in-between the rows. [Straight path to large ring mowed by farmer.]

5grassringnj

Mt. Laurel, NEW JERSEY - July 7, 2009  (lawn grass)
Several approximately 2 ft-wide flattened rings (overall diams. about 12 ft) found in suburban lawn. The 2-3 inch tall grass was flattened radially, laid from the inside edge of the ring out to the perimeter edge. At first we suspected fungal growth, but malfunction of the under-ground sprinkler system was eventually found to be the cause.

21-dublinoh-blog1

Dublin, OHIO -  June 21, 2009  (oats)
Large area (”longer than a football field”) of randomly-downed crop in 100-acre field. Plants are all flattened in same direction, but a very fluid,  ”undulating,” flow is noted, as well as multiple standing tufts–characteristics often associated with “geometric” crop formations. More info:  http://www.bltresearch.com/otherfacts.php#nongeom.

woodstockvt-blog4

Woodstock, VERMONT -  May 29, 2009  (hayfield)
Small hayfield w/randomly-downed sections throughout.  Plant lay is very fluid, w/elongation of nodes & multiple standing tufts. Ridges have formed where lay intersects (photo). Flattened grasses surround a standing clump of untouched Water Parsnips (see “geometric” case in 2008: http://www.bltresearch.com/fieldreports/july2008a.php).

5-13-09-carlisle-oh-blog1

Carlisle, OHIO - May 13, 2009  (wheat)
Another large area of randomly-downed crop, with a strange twist. Field is on Rt. #123, directly across road from “two famous spaceships” (upper L corner of photo) built, probably, as a tourist attraction. Landowner reports severe storm the night crop was flattened & local weather guy posits a “downburst” as cause.

bedfordva2

Bedford County, VIRGINIA  May 3-4, 2009 (barley?)
In the last few years large areas of crop, flattened in no obvious pattern, are being reported in the U.S.  This field in Bedford County was found after a storm in which rain “fell hard” but with no strong winds. The swirling of the plants and their extreme flatness to the ground mimic effects often seen in “geometric” crop circles.

2008:

9-12-08-bedfordgrass1

Bedford, INDIANA - September 12, 2008 (Sudangrass)
Multiple somewhat circular bowl-like and other irregularly-flattened areas of crop discovered following a reportedly mild rain storm, stretching across several adjacent fields. Although locals reported no severe winds, the farmer pointed out that sudangrass falls over easily when it gets wet, and he attributes the event to weather.

8-17-08_mo-aerial_closearea

Chaffee, MISSOURI - August 22, 2008 (maize/corn)
Large areas of downed corn found after a storm, flattened very tightly to the ground.  All stalks flattened S-to-N, even in a 975-long, 6′-wide, downed strip along the North edge of this field. Many breaks (or “cuts”) were found in the lower nodes of the stalks. Although weather is likely a factor, extreme flatness of downed stalks is odd.

7-26-27-08-fossvikan

Fosston, MINNESOTA (#2) - July 27, 2008 (wheat)
A 229′-long pictogram with a very rough overall lay and none of the visible cc plant abnormalities. Local animal disturbances & aerial light phenomena were reported, and 2 circles were found to have been added on return field-trip. For report & photos see: bltresearch.com/fieldreports/july2008b.php.

7-20-08-fosstonvikan

Fosston, MINNESOTA  (#1) - July 20, 2008 (wheat)
On-site field investigation revealed very roughoverall flattening of plants, crooked pathways, and no evidence of elongated apical (top) plant-stem nodes or expulsion cavities. Star pathways had been flattened out over perimeter ring, and ring & all paths were of the same width. Most likely mechanically flattened (man-made).

6_30_08-greenvi_aerial

Greenville, ILLINOIS - June 30, 2008 (wheat)
From ground photos supplied by field owner's daughter-in-law and on-site interviews with various locals, it appears most likely that this formation was made by local high school students using”of all things hockey sticks. The field had been cut by the time BLT was notified so no sampling could be carried out and nothing more is known.

known.

6-5-08-rocklandeventRockland, MAINE - June 5, 2008 (grasses)
A roughly circular area of turbulently-flattened plants was found for the second year, in almost the same location as in 2007. There is not yet enough scientific evaluation of the effects caused to grasses by the crop circle energy system and no sampling was conducted, so no further information is available. Possibly weather-related.

5-15-08-stuart_wheat

Stuarts Draft, VIRGINIA - May 15, 2008 (bearded wheat)
One of several large areas of randomly-downed crop found this spring in Virginia and Tennessee. Many plant changes associated with genuine crop circles were found in this case: elongation of apical (top) nodes, 45-degree angle bending of multiple lower nodes (found to be present immediately) and undulating fluidity of overall lay.

5-5-08-monroecountytn

Madisonville (Monroe Cty), TENNESSEE - May 5, 2008 (wheat)
First verified crop circle reported in the U.S. in 2008. None of the visible plant changes [apical (top) node elongation, expulsion cavities, marked bending at lower nodes] known to be associated with genuine events were found. The fact that this circle was found precisely 1 year after the 2007 Madisonville circle is suspicious. Probably man-made.

2007:

fall07_newhaventnshpmi_10ofdeadcloversoybeans_cropped

New Haven Township, MICHIGAN  Fall, 2007 (soybeans)
An approximately 10 ft. diameter circle of what looks like dead soybeans & clover. Although we have no information about when this was first found or what it may have looked like earlier, it does not look as if the plants here were actually flattenedrather that they may have been burned or removed altogether. No other details available.

9-07-waynecountyohio_soybeans_cropped

Wayne County, OHIO  Fall, 2007 (soybeans)
This formation was not reported until late September and was not examined on the ground, since it was assumed to have been already harvested. It’s location, however, was within approximately 30 miles of a 2006 crop circle in Sandyville, Ohio, which was confessed to be man-made. No other details available.

6-27-07-wilburwa_wheat_cropped

Wilbur, WASHINGTON June 27, 2007 (wheat)
The wheat in this 158′ x 152′ formation contained the two most reliable visible plant changes found in the “real McCoy”: (a) clearly elongated apical (top) nodes and (b) expulsion cavities (holes blown out at lower nodes).  Many center swirls were not in the geometric centers & multiple photo anomalies occurred during sampling.

6-14-07-delaplainearkansas_cropped

Delaplaine, ARKANSAS  June 14, 2007 (wheat)
Third circle found in NE Arkansas in last 5 years. Outer ring approx. 130′ overall diameter. Field had no tractor lines because crop was sown (not drilled). Due to late sowing and a bad drought, the wheat was very stunted (only 14″ tall). Farmer saw no evidence of entry and reports unusual animal behavior & irrigation system battery failure.

6-9-07-elizabethcitync_random-wheat_cropped

Elizabeth City, NORTH CAROLINA  June 9, 2007 (wheat)
Long stretches of irregularly flattened wheat covering approx. 250 acres. Plants are flattened in same direction throughout, with a few standing tufts. The lay is very flat to the ground & lacks the “undulating” aspect seen in many real crop circles. No storm activity reported, but this event is probably weather-related.

07-hopewellva_randomhay_cropped

Hopewell, VIRGINIA  June 2, 2007 (wheat)
Several areas of somewhat bowl-shapped flattened plants found after a rainstorm. Neighbor who reported this says her computer “crashed” and her cat exhibited unusual behavior (”hissing”) on the night the crop went down. Land-owner refused investigation, so no other details are available. We suspect a “down-draft” as likely cause here.

5-27-07-washevillenc_grass_cropped

W. Asheville, NORTH CAROLINA  May 27, 2007 (grasses)
First crop circle reported in eastern NC since one which was found near Weaverville in 2005. This formation made up of two inter-locking rings with two flattened circles inside each, overall length approx. 100′. BLT was not aware of this event until late in the season, so no field investigation was carried out. No other details available.

07-missionks_2smccsgrass_cropped

Mission, KANSAS  May 21, 2007 (grasses)
Two small (6′ and 8′-diam.) circles found under a tree–the first time we’ve heard of circles beneath over-hanging branches. Based on the science available (which posits an atmospheric plasma discharge as the likely causative agency), circles beneath overhanging branches would be highly unlikely. BLT heard of case too late to do fieldwork.

5-14-07-madisonvilletn_cropped

Madisonville, TENNESSEE - May 14, 2007 (wheat)
Approx. 165′ x 169′ (overall diam.), field has no tractor lines. According to Brent Raynes (Alternate Perception Magazine) elongated apical (top) nodes and expulsion cavities (holes blown out at lower nodes) were present & several “very credible” witnesses reported UFOs in area earlier & a “bright” light over this field.

07-redbluffca_grass_cropped

Red Bluff, CALIFORNIAMay 11, 2007 (grasses)
A crisp 3-circle “thought-bubble” design, all plants laid counter-clockwise; expulsion cavities and bent (rather than broken) plant bases were found. Deviations in magnetic North were reported & one investigator’s compass needle reported to spin “all over the place” in the circles. “Disorientation” also reported inside the circles.

5-07-eppsla_cropped

Epps, LOUISIANA  May, 2007 (wheat)

A totally new type of crop event, consisting of multiple (25 +/-) “bowl-like” circular crop depressions stretching nearly ¼-mile across field. Rather than being flattened, the plants in the depressions were simply several inches shorter than the surrounding crop. Sadly, the field was cut before on-site investigation could be carried out.

3-24-07-chandle_cropped1

Chandler, ARIZONA  March 24, 2007 (Sorghum ?)
Massive area of randomly-downed plants with multiple standing tufts throughout, a very “fluid-looking” lay and many small circular swirls here and there.  In recent years we are hearing increasing references by meteorologists to “down-drafts” and “mini-tornado” activity and wonder if such weather anomalies could be the cause here?
