The Hitchens Family Haunting - Battersea Poltergeist

In 1956 a family by the name of Hitchings’ lived in a terraced Victorian house at 63 Wycliffe Road, Battersea in South London. One day strange things started to happen when an ornate key appeared on the pillow of fifteen-year old Shirleys’ pillow. One night in January 1956 knocking began followed by loud banging, thumps and then incessant pouding that rebounded around the house. It was so loud that neighbours started to complain about the noise. Then scratching appeared to come from inside the furniture and the lights started to flash on and off. Shirley clinged to her father begging him to make it stop. But for the terrified Hitchings’ family, this was only the beginning...
