Last night I had a dream about a shark so I decided to do some research on the spiritual meanings of sharks. I feel the dream was an inner message for me since it came via dreaming. The shark was not dangerous in any way but kept swimming to and from by me and seemed to have no interest in making me its lunch.
The first thing is was reminded was that in its ocean home the shark is actually peaceful. Now this is not to say that collectively or group wise, when hungry, they are aggressive and dangerous. Hmmm – quite a bit like humans – politicians come to mind. Generally a shark dream can bespeak of harbored hostilities and ruthless behavior or an outside threat. According to the Bible I might be a sinner still worthy of God’s Grace (aren’t we all?) After a quick review of my waking life, I had to rule those out. I wasn’t out to get anyone nor was anyone out to get me. Yet this shark was telling me something.
So, I started sifting through the many spiritual meanings available on media looking for what might resonate. As I am currently a manager in some volunteer work I was doing on a charitable community project I found the following points interesting:
- I might be called upon to hone my senses and trust my instincts when interpreting.
- To accomplish the goal I would have to use observation, perception, and understanding.
- I would have to send clear signals to the other fish (people) about what needed to be done.
- I needed to maintain some personal space without letting others intrude throughout the project.
- I might need to be resistant to certain attempts at changing the goal as I would be holding my ground to preserve something important. If I recognize it as the best path, then change just for the sake of change is never good or fruitful.
- Caution was needed in not becoming a workaholic with the project and to consider the path of least resistance when necessary.
- Avoid attempts at manipulation but be aware of hypocrites.
- Know that in the end I would prevail.
Hey! This works for me!
